1991 Strategic planning began for the Nursing Honor Society at GBCN

1993 Nursing Honor Society of GBCN held its first induction ceremony on May 3, 1993

1995 Nursing Honor Society of GBCN was invited to the Atlanta Area Consortium of STTI Chapters

1996 GBCN application was submitted to become a chapter of STTI

1997 Nursing Honor Society approved to present to STTI House of Delegates at the 1997 STTI Biennial Convention

1998 Pi Gamma Chapter STTI chartered

2023 Pi Gamma Chapter approved to become:  Pi Gamma at Large Chapter

Pi Gamma at Large Chapter will be awarded a 13th consecutive Chapter Key Award for Excellence

at the 48th Biennial Convention in Indianapolis, IN November 2025

  • Call for Nominations - Susan Sweat Gunby Award; Deadline October 31, 2025

    The Susan Sweat Gunby Excellence in Nursing Award by the Pi Gamma at-Large Chapter is given to acknowledge an outstanding member whose contributions fulfill the goals of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI). Nominations are only accepted from Pi Gamma at-Large dhapter members.

    The Fall 2025 new member luncheon will be hosted in room 137 of the College of Nursing.  All members are encouraged to attend and meet our newest incoming members to the chapter.  Pizza will be served to all.  No RSVP required.
